Small Ship Adventure Cruises in Alaska

Southeast Alaska is a place for discovery, and the David B  is in Alaska from May to August. Make plans early to find yourself surrounded by abundant wildlife and majestic scenery, with each day’s new experiences. Alaska is a place where you’ll discover that you can find yourself in the solitude of wilderness. Here you’ll find that humpback and orca whales, seals, sea lions, and porpoises abound. You’ll have time to watch rafts of seabirds, listen to the quizzical vocalizations of ravens, observe the power of bald eagles in flight and look for bears feeding on shore.

Unlike most cruises, we travel during daylight hours, so you won’t miss any of the sights. We search out quiet secluded anchorages that bring you into the heart of the Alaskan wilderness. When anchored, you’ll have plenty of time to go ashore for wilderness hikes or take a kayak out for an easy paddle.

Our one-way Alaska trips depart from either Petersburg or Juneau and are 8-days long. Best of all, our trips are limited to groups of eight or fewer. We also offer custom private charter tours for as long as you’d like.

A Culinary Adventure Aboard the M/V David B

Another thing you will discover about cruising aboard the David B, is that our food is amazing. On all of our trips, you will be treated to gourmet meals. Enjoy just-out-of-the-oven sourdough bread and a bowl of Whiskey Crab soup on deck while you watch whales in Frederick Sound or wake up to delicious coffee, handmade croissants, fresh fruit and caribou sausage for breakfast. Each day aboard the David B is special and we work to make sure your meals are as spectacular as the wildlife and scenery that surrounds you in this truly Great Land.

You never know what you’ll experience on the David B. The video below was taken at anchor in Sanford Cove in the Tracy Arm/Fords Terror wilderness. We were having dinner when a young humpback whale came to join us.
